Hi, my name is Kara Prince Stacks.
I am a professional in the field of behavior and autism—and a proud mother to an incredible child on the spectrum. My career has been built on a deep passion for serving children with diverse needs, advocating for their rights, and ensuring they have access to the best possible supports both in school and in the community.
I have worked at every level within special education—from paraprofessional to classroom teacher, behavior specialist, and district-level leader. Early in my career, I served as an in-home and parent trainer, an after-school detention teacher, and an in-school suspension teacher. In those roles, I broke away from the traditional disciplinary model and instead focused on social-emotional growth, creating programs that addressed the why behind behaviors while fostering trust and lasting relationships.
Over the years, I became a strong voice for special education advocacy. I helped establish the first Autism Awareness Rally and Walk in my area, was named 2018 Autism Teacher of the Year by the Autism Friends Organization, and was featured twice on KXII News in 2017 for my work with students on the spectrum. I was also part of a Team of the Year award in my district for my leadership and collaboration in a Structured Learning Classroom (SLC) for students with autism.
My educational journey began as a paraprofessional, where I learned firsthand the power of patience, creativity, and advocacy. I supported both centralized programs and inclusion settings, and that hands-on experience inspired me to pursue advanced education. I earned my Master of Science in Psychology with a specialization in Applied Behavior Analysis and became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst.
As a district behavior specialist in one of the largest school districts in the DFW area, I worked extensively with administrators, teachers, and parents to design and implement evidence-based interventions. I eventually led the district’s entire behavior team, ensuring legal compliance, advocating for student-centered solutions, and embedding myself in all aspects of special education law and policy.
While I loved my leadership role, I missed the direct, one-on-one work with children. This led me to transition into the clinical field, where I served as a BCBA and Executive Clinical Director while founding Prince ABA in Sherman, Texas. Today, as Owner and BCBA, I have the privilege of working daily with children and families—combining my expertise in school-based systems with high-quality, ethical clinical care.
In addition to running my practice, I am currently pursuing my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, which will allow me to diagnose autism and other neurodevelopmental conditions. This step expands my ability to advocate for families from the very first step in their diagnostic journey through individualized therapy and community resources.
Throughout my years in education, leadership, and clinical work, one thing has remained constant: my passion for helping children thrive. My mission is to create lasting change, equip families with tools and knowledge, and inspire a culture of compassion and acceptance for neurodivergent individuals everywhere.
